First Story for public radio program The World aired today

I’m super psyched. It’s a piece about a woman who ended up staying in East Germany — even though she visited relatives just two weeks before the wall went up — because she couldn’t stand to part with her furniture or the  stability of finally having her own place.

You can find the story here:  http://www.theworld.org/2011/08/life-behind-the-iron-curtain/

Special thanks to Gaby Schueler, my ex-husband’s former English teacher. The story is about her mother, pictured here.
